After all that...

Monday, April 20

After all that disappointed hoopla I was subjecting you bloggers to...

I was awarded the TA position after all.

Someone said no to theirs. And now it's mine.

My tuition is covered, I don't have to be a nanny anymore, and lots of financial things...

but mostly, I got my dream. I got it. I'm going to be a lecturer at NC State, and I can't wait to cram grammar into the heads of English students. ME, a lecturer. EEeek!!

When I got the e-mail, I screamed and danced around... actually, it probably can't be called dancing. It was a freakout fit. I freaked out and called Matt... no answer. I called my Mom, she answered--

IGOTTHETAPOSITI-- IMGONNABE--TA--SOMEONESAIDNO--I-TA!

She thought something was terribly wrong.

I'm so happy I can't even believe it. Matt can-- he says he knew I'd get it. I didn't!! I'm kind of glad last week happened-- made me realize how important to me this is, sure-- but also made me see that even without this funding I could do school on my own if I have to.

So still, thank you so much for all your kind comments. Sorry I was pullin your leg the whole time. I had no idea someone would say no!

I'm going to go celebrate (by going to bed). But I just wanted to fill you in.

Also, as part of the weekend celebration...

I'm making these.

Yup.

Anyone got a good, easy salsa recipe to go with that?

Well done :)

I think we call this a 'character building experience'... :) And perhaps you have a few more grey hairs too, but you're a stronger person for it!

Next time, film yourself spazzing out...

HUZZAH!

Congratulations! That's awesome news!

I totally understand the freaking out fit. I did the same thing when I heard the message on my answering machine that I was able to have a midwife, after weeks of disappointment! I yelled so loudly that Tyler heard me from outside. HA!

Again, congrats!

Oh my goooosh! CONGRATS, girl!! I knew it. I knew something great would happen:) I bet you are all smiles right now!

I LOOOVE SALSA! I don't have a recipe BUT I do know where you can get some. Have you ever heard of the mexican restaurant ON THE BORDER? Their salsa is just to die for. Well, I found out they sell it at Walmart. I live in Texas so I'm not sure if they sell it anywhere else. If you happen to be in Walmart or have one close by you should check!

Have fun celebrating. You SO deserve it!

Hey girl! CONGRATULATIONS! Am SO proud of you! I am so happy that you achieved your goal and I can imagine how disappointing it must have been to think that you might not get it, but you did!

I just gave my GMAT too, and did pretty ok :) So yay! I'm in celebration mood too!

Dang! Think the first comment we did got erased, so if this is double speak, please forgive. :( Congrats on the position. See, if you believe it, you achieve it. Way to go and enjoy it! Girl, down those margaritas like a true champ.

Try this salsa: http://duodishes.com/2009/01/22/blame-it-on-global-warming/

Mangoes are really good now, so they'd be super in place of the papayas! MMMMMMM.
