Listening to "Narcolepsy," Third Eye Blind

I started!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to make this:
I hope I can make it! I don't know
how to cable stitch so it's also
going to be a learning experience...

found the pattern for free on Ravelry!!

I'm making it in gray. It's going to be my "go-to" project (I hope!), where I can learn the project well and then make a couple really fast. Wouldn't that make a cute Christmas present?!

...Yes, I said Christmas. I have 3 sisters y'all, if they're all gettin' hand-knits I gotta plan ahead!

Running late for work now, but I am just SO EXCITED to have a new project I had to share!

Thanks for all your kind comments about my awful soup-- whenever I feel like a terrible cook I can come to my blog and feel encouraged :)

This weekend: The finished not-so-spring Spring Lace Scarf and I'M MAKING MY FIRST HOMEMADE PIE!

What a week!

I am so happy you're going to make pie! I would definitely advise using less salt than it calls for (maybe half as much) and covering it with foil. It's a good pie--hope you and your boyfriend like it!

I understand about the starting-on-Christmas-presents-in-March idea. I try to give at least one quilt as a gift per Christmas, and I usually am frantically working on it Dec. 23/24. It's my own little bout of holiday stress. I would definitely recommend it, though. It is really relaxing and tons of fun! I made my first one by hand before I got a machine. It's a great thing to do in your down time, or when you're watching TV. Plus, you're warm forever!

Thanks for the link to the choc chip cookie dough cheesecake--oh my goodness! I noticed that today there are cupcakes with cookie dough. I'm sensing a theme. Needless to say, I am going to have to make it, and then find some unsuspecting person to dump it on! Maybe my boyfriend would like that job! :)

What a cute purse! I love that style and can't wait to see how it goes.

If you don't already know about it, knittinghelp.com is a great place to go for videos for things like making cables. Good luck!!

sorry that i have to comment here but I have no where else to comment!! I love jiffy cornbread because it is sweet. I had to make homemade cornbread at the restaraunt I was working at before my accident and man it was a hassle. So I opt for jiffy!! Best of luck..

What a great looking bag! I recently learned cables and they're easy as pie. I can't wait to see it when it's all done.

Good job thinking ahead for Christmas. Last year I didn't start until the end of October and I was so burnt out by the time Christmas came around. Very cute purse, I'll have to add it to my queue.

That purse is gorgeous, good luck with it! And I agree, hand-made gifts need to be started super early!

As a person who can't even tie a knit properly: Good luck. And share the results.

I love the new look. Ringing in the changes for Spring. I can't wait to see the bag results. My Mum has been teaching me all sorts of exciting things indeed. Hurrah!

good luck to you! I've no idea how to knit, and I'm sure any attempt I did would look like a ball of yarn a kitten attacked.

I love the new look! Very cool.

That bag is so cute... it would probably be awesome in gray. Good luck with that!

With pie, the advice I've always had drilled into my head from my mom and older sisters is that the less you handle the pastry, the better it is. If you touch it or mix it too much, it goes hard and chewy, not at all the result you want. And make sure everything is cold, cold flour, cold butter, cold water.

Have fun! I'm sure it'll be easy as pie.. ;)
